Statement

In my work, I rely on hybrid strategies used in the field of contemporary visual art bouncing among the scenic, gallery and museum format, shuffling with the principles of visual communication. I use the latest technologies and various media to present them, while the subject of my focus is still a common human being, his language, environment, and dreams.

The practical outputs of artistic and „research“ activities as documented in attachment are examples of a creative arts program in which I use a wide range of visual expressions (performance, audio installation, digital and film media, 3D scanner and printer, CNC cutter …)

When choosing and combining materials and technical components, I combine „bricoleur“ and the „engineering“ approach – sometimes I construct and invent precisely, but also with ease I take what is around me to be taken.

Some of my complex installations and video sculptures, at first glance, apparently resemble the work of Nam June Paik but it is just a similarity that (mis)leads – while the perception of Nam June Paik one needs scattered attention, i.e., work has to be perceived globally and without unnecessary thinking about the sense of particular components, with my “gesamtkunstwerk” one has to shift from formerly scattered attention to the focus and analysis of individual components and their relations.

My works are defined by the issue of (psychic and political) manipulation in wider social and systemic connexions.

Currently, I am developing my art program and research at doctoral studies at VŠVU in Bratislava under the supervision of the supervisor doc. Mgr. art. Martin Piaček, ArtD. I focus actively on topics of socially engaged art and exploring current utopian tendencies and their borders at the level of everyday reality.
