OPEN CALL 2026

Foundation – Centre for Contemporary Art announces the 30th edition of the Oskár Čepan Award intended for visual artists up to the age of 40 (inclusive). Slovak visual artists, as well as artists of various nationalities who have completed their university studies in Slovakia or are currently residing and demonstrably active in Slovakia, may apply to the open call.
Authors can apply for the project through the website www.oskarcepan.sk until 31.3.2026. Before registering, it is mandatory to read the statute of the competition.
The application must include all mandatory attachments in both Slovak and English due to the international composition of the jury: 1. Portfolio with sufficient documentation of artistic works, 2. CV with contact information, 3. Brief artist statement.
Each of the 3 laureates of the Oskár Čepan Award 2026 will receive support in the amount of 4000 euros intended for the realization of the work presented at the joint exhibition at the Turiec Gallery in Martin. The work presented in the exhibition should be a new and previously unexhibited output by the author. One of the laureates will be awarded a residency at Residency Unlimited (NY, USA) for the months of August and September 2026.
